Divyang Patel

Founder, Think ICT · Melbourne, VIC

Divyang is a Melbourne-based IT Operations leader with deep expertise in identity and access management, security automation, and enterprise IT engineering. Before founding Think ICT, he built and managed identity infrastructure, endpoint security, and IT operations at enterprise scale, working with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and the full Microsoft 365 ecosystem. He started Think ICT to give Melbourne SMBs access to the same rigour, structure, and security-first thinking that large organisations take for granted.

Our story

From break-fix to a real IT partner

Too many Melbourne businesses were stuck in a cycle of break-fix IT: calling a technician when something went wrong, paying an unpredictable bill, and crossing their fingers it would not happen again. They had no visibility into the health of their systems, no one proactively managing their security, and no real IT strategy.

Think ICT was founded to change that. We bring enterprise-grade IT management: the kind of security-first approach that large companies take for granted, to businesses with 10 to 250 staff who do not have the budget or need for an internal IT team.

We are specialists in identity management (Okta and Microsoft Entra ID), which gives us a unique lens on modern security. If you know who has access to what, and you can control it automatically, you have solved one of the biggest risk areas for any business.

Divyang's background sits at the intersection of technical depth and operational ownership. He has designed IAM architectures, automated user lifecycle processes with Okta Workflows and APIs, managed SaaS ecosystems across entire organisations, and delivered IT projects that touched security, compliance, people operations, and finance teams simultaneously. That breadth shapes how Think ICT approaches every engagement: not just fixing what is broken today, but building IT that works reliably at scale.

Who we help

Our clients are Melbourne-based businesses with 10 to 250 staff. They are growing companies in professional services, retail, healthcare, construction, and finance: industries where downtime costs money and data security matters.

What they have in common: they do not have a dedicated internal IT person (or the one they have is stretched too thin), they are using Microsoft 365, and they want to sleep better knowing their IT is under control.

Our values

How we approach every engagement

Local & Personal

We're a Melbourne business serving Melbourne businesses. When you call, you speak to someone who understands the local context, not a call centre script.

Security-First

Cyber security is not an afterthought or a bolt-on. We build it into everything we do from day one, regardless of your plan.

Plain English

We translate tech into business outcomes. No jargon, no acronym soup. Just clear advice you can act on.

How we think

Our philosophy

01

Proactive over Reactive

Most IT problems don't appear without warning. They build slowly through missed patches, unchecked access, and ignored alerts. We operate on the assumption that something is always about to go wrong, and we'd rather find it first. Our job is prevention, not firefighting.

02

Security is a Posture, Not a Product

You cannot buy security off a shelf and call it done. Real security is a continuous set of decisions: who has access, to what, from where, on which device, and is that still appropriate today? We build that discipline into every engagement from day one, not as an add-on when something goes wrong.

03

Access is the Perimeter

In a cloud-first world, the old network perimeter is gone. Your data lives in M365, your apps are SaaS, and your staff are working from anywhere. That means identity, knowing exactly who has access to what and controlling it automatically, is now the foundation of IT security. It's why identity management sits at the centre of everything we do.

04

Plain Language, Always

We translate technology into business outcomes. If we can't explain what we're doing and why it matters to your business in plain terms, we shouldn't be doing it. No jargon, no acronym soup, no hiding behind complexity.
